Today I went downtown with Mother, Dad, Richard and Carol.  Dad left for Chehalis today.

That’s a coincidence, I was just asking where Dad was and here he is.  First mention practically in the entire diary, and it’s to say that Dad is leaving town.  My father must not have seen his Dad much as a kid.
